Terms and Conditions for Use of LipidMetrix

Before entering the LipidMetrix application, you acknowledge and accept the following terms and conditions.

1. Data Processing and GDPR

LipidMetrix is intended solely for running lipidomics analyses and is not designed to process personal data as defined in Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

By using this application, you explicitly agree:

• To only upload and process data that cannot be defined as personal data under GDPR.
• That LipidMetrix is not intended for clinical or diagnostic decision-making.
• That LipidMetrix is provided “AS IS”, and you assume the entire risk for the performance and results of the software.
• That your use of LipidMetrix is governed by the GNU General Public License v3 (GPL-3) .

2. Prohibition of Use by the Tobacco Industry

Use of the hosted LipidMetrix web service is strictly prohibited for:

• Entities that produce or promote tobacco products.
• Entities that, within the last year, have collaborated with companies whose production or turnover to a significant extent comprises continuous revenue—direct or indirect—from the production or sale of tobacco products.
• Products containing nicotine that are not approved as smoking cessation medicines are included in this prohibition.

The term “tobacco industry” includes companies, corporate groups, foundations, or similar entities whose products or turnover to a significant extent derive continuous revenue from the production and sale of tobacco products, whether directly or through subsidiary or foundation structures.

By accessing the service, the user confirms that they are not acting on behalf of such an entity.

3. Use of the Danish Cancer Society’s Name and Logo

The name, logo, and other trademarks of the Danish Cancer Society may not be used by users of the hosted web service without prior specific written consent from the Danish Cancer Society.

This prohibition includes, but is not limited to, use in:

• Marketing and promotional materials
• Communication and press materials
• References, presentations, and other published materials

The Danish Cancer Society reserves the right to reject any proposal that conflicts with its ethical guidelines, planned campaigns, or related considerations.

4. Collection of (Personal) Data by the Danish Cancer Society

When using LipidMetrix, the Danish Cancer Society collects the following data:

• IP address
• Timestamp
• URL path
• HTTP status code

These data are collected solely for logging and technical record-keeping purposes and are processed based on the Danish Cancer Society’s legitimate interest pursuant to GDPR Article 6(1)(f), specifically concerning successful sign-in attempts.

The collected data are retained for a maximum period of three (3) months, after which they are deleted.
